The Lee Rigby incident explained…

Well once again I see the #LeftyLogic brigade are out in force shouting about how I called Lee Rigby’s family idiots just nine days after he was murdered. Well, the truth of the matter is, I never did and it was just something that I tweeted which was twisted and taken totally out of context. As a former serviceman myself, there is actually no way that I would attack Lee’s grieving family but this is certainly not the way it was portrayed by many and it seems to have been resurrected once again now that I am standing for election here in Poole.

So this is what really happened and, you can then judge for yourselves. I had published a blog basically saying that people should actually listen to what the EDL were protesting about. I had done so and it was clear to me that they were protesting about Islamification of Luton and child grooming gangs that were happening all over the country. To me these were things that needed to be protested against and I felt it was wrong to simply try to shout them down because people thought they were thugs. Would the reaction have been the same if it were Uni students protesting about the same thing? The real truth of the matter was at the time, the EDL were the only ones taking to the streets and shouting about something that needed to be shouted about. The revaluations of the 1,400 children in Rotherham, surely proved this? Well apparently not according to some of the comments coming my way at the moment in regards to an incident that I thought was put to bed a long time ago.

This blog apparently meant I was defending the actions of the EDL, which I suppose I was really because I don’t think that just because you do not like the look of people, that shouldn’t mean you ignore what they say or try to silence them which was clearly the case back then. I recall getting some grief from UKIP about my stance on this but I would not change my view that hell would freeze over before I would condemned anyone for protesting about anything that was so obviously wrong, regardless where they may stand on the social ladder.

In a Twitter row and I certainly had plenty of them back in 2013, a time when UKIP was fighting hard to gain momentum, I was asked “Why do you think Lee Rigby’s family don’t want the EDL involved” and I responded with “Like a lot of idiots they believe the EDL are right-wing fascists I suppose” to which they said I was calling Lee Rigby’s family idiots, I did say no I am not but they omitted that part when they printed the smear.

And so the abuse began, threats to my life and my families and Hope Not Hate reposted the article twice on their website, but chose to take it down when the one and only comment on there was mine saying “Why would an ex soldier such as myself ever say anything derogatory to the grieving family of a soldier. I had used the word ‘Like’ so if I were to say Nick Lowles (editor of Hope Not Hate) was like an American, I would not be saying he was an American. So no I did not call Lee Rigby’s family idiots. As you can see from the link below HnH have removed their article on this.

Obviously now that I am standing for election some will once again try to use this to discredit me but I still will not ever condemn those who protest against something so abhorrently wrong as child grooming gangs and if that in some way makes you think I am a bad person then really you need to take a long hard look in the mirror.

I am standing for election in GE2017 because I am a man who has strong moral convictions and political correctness is simply not strong enough to water them down.
